    Default Massey Ferguson

I have been offered a good deal on a Massey Ferguson tractor. I am down to one tractor, and this seems to be a good deal.

Does anyone have any experience with these tractors? Please don't fill this thread up with your opinions about other tractors, I only want opinions based on experience with MF's.

We have and have had MF's smaller than that and they have been very good tractors. Not sure about any over 60hp though.

My father in law has 4 ranging in hp from 45-60. All 2wd. All have been great tractors. All are at least 20 years old and he has no trouble finding parts.

I use at MF 165 and it was made in 1967. Still purrs like a kitten. But I will say this, they don't make 'em like they used to. Overall, great tractors, can last a lifetime(literally) if you take care of them right.

Ditto. I own a Massey Ferguson 165 1972 model. Absolute beauty. Not looking just
the way it acts. All you gotta do is basic maintenance.

We got '07 (I think) 8450 with the IVT transmission. Pretty good tractor 215 engine hp. It is a strong tractor that pulls well but that SOB pours more black smoke than an old JD 4850 I ran that had a straight pipe on it, the techs say there is nothing wrong with it. The biggest turnoff to the tractor is how much computer there is to it, everything is computerizied which translates to problem waiting to happen, so I imagine its life here will be shorter than the JDs we run. The interior is laid out well except the loader controls are in a funky place. Also the seat makes a Dodge trucks seat feel like a throne (uncomfortable as shit, which sucks when you spend 10hrs a day in it). This tractor will haul ass on the road, 26mph pulling a 14K lb baler. Going to put the duals back on it this week and turnover about 500ac with a big disc ripper so I will give you some feedback on it after that.
