That along with two nework cards built in or set in on PCI slots and you can have a fantastic firewall to protect your home network. Add additonal cards/interfaces if you want to seperate wireless or a webserver.
However, the best thing I have found as a result of switching from a linksys router is the page load speed. Currently using a 1.7 Celeron of the p4 days with 512mb of ram and it rarely uses 6% cpu and 2% memory so as the specs go you can use a really old computer with better results than many of the "box" solutions available today.
