    Default Atv Problem

I have a bayou 220 that died on me the other day and won't restart. It died after running without any problems for about 2 hours. When it died it did nothing out of the ordinary just as if I had hit the kill switch.
I have cleaned the carb twice, confirmed it has compression and spark. I can't get it to start with starter fluid even. I'm at a bit of a loss as what to try next, any ideas?

Could be not enough spark. Could be the voltage regulator. My artic cat was doing about the same thing but it would run but not very

Age? If older, check for short in red on/off rocker switch.

Wouldn't happen to have switched to the reserve gas tank?

Kill switch may be shorted. Disconnect it, and see if it will start.
I've see it happen on a boat before.

I pulled all the grounds/kills off the coil and tried it again with no luck. Pulled the carb and made sure everything was put back the ways it's supposed to and nothing.

I have no electric start and no battery in this thing. I feel like there can't be much to break.

I ordered a new rectifier and coil. Hopefully one will fix it.

You should be able to jump that to test it or use an ohm meter.

    Update:
Installed new rectifier and still will not start.
I am getting spark when the plug is grounded against the engine.
It would start on the first pull before this happened.

Check all your wiring. You got a bare wire hittin on the frame or something. I mean tracing all them and looking. That is what cause my whole problem. Came from a wire going to the stop light on my ArticCat. Let me know what you find.

I will definitely check, but with a wire grounding would I still be getting spark like I am?

I noticed yesterday that while I pull started the rear lights came on. I have no battery so I'm willing to bet it is a wire.
