I have no idea why this society exists. There's roughly 30 grouse in the mountains that run from Georgia up to Canada and I'm convinced the only thing that can kill them is getting run over by a car.

Thanks for the interest, guys. Fish knows that there is at least one ruffed grouse in the state of Georgia, so I will not argue that he may be right about SOuth Carolina. HOWEVER....We do have healthy woodcock populations in the regular season, and that is also a part of what RGS does. In higher elevation areas of SC migrating woodcock share the same habitat as grouse and then they push on through the midlands and into the low country. The SCDNR small game projects coordinator will be at the event, because the chapter is interested in getting a woodcock or grouse covert conservation project going with the money we raise and work in conjunction with RGS corporate and SCDNR. IT might be something like this video put together by the folks at dnr: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCxQnYotVXY[/ame]

So come on up, come on down. It should be a really good event!
