Does that apply this year? I was told the newspaper said that last week but everything I see hasn't changed yet.

I wonder how many serious turkey hunters are relieved that they can stop at 3. My guess is 0. Makes me think who ever thought this up has not turkey hunted in South Carolina. This is an odd law and further illustrates how out of touch whoever thought this up is from reality.

That still has to be passed in the house so it could be status quo in 2016.... Just sayin!

I could care less what they do with the season and # of birds harvested but please please raise the OOS license fees and hand the reigns to someone that will actually listen to several biologists that actually know what they are talking about.

No over the counter tags will limit the # of birds killed more than the 3 bird limit
Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.

So instead of people getting 10 tags, they will only get their allotted "5"..

The three bird limit is nothing but a compromise. Idiots in Columbia want equality across the state with season dates. Only way DNR will show any support is for the limit to be lowered. All BS.

If they were really worried about the resource, they would lower the limit but not extend the season.

    Deer season will be next.

Turkey populations used to be regulated by hunters' lack of ability. I have fallen in that category in the past. Now, with a blind and a strutter decoy, lack of ability can be minimized as a factor. My dad has very little business killing a turkey. However, with a blind and/or a strutter, he has become increasingly successful. He can't see or hear worth a shit and he has a bad back, so he can't sit still for long. Stick him in a tent and he is a killing machine.

BTW, I have no issue with people enjoying the outdoors by any legal means they see fit. I do believe that turkeys that would have never gotten killed in the past are being killed today. What that does to the numbers, I have no idea, and neither do the people making the rules. Some years the weather works out better than others, and some areas of the state may change for the better or worse from year to year. On average, I encounter about the same number of birds that I did 5-10-15-20 years ago.

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
