    Default Fresh water

It happens most every year that we get some rain and it messes shrimping/fishing up for a little while but dang I can't remember the last time we got this much water. How long you recon before everything balances out on this downpour

I would think a few days worth of tides would level it out. Good question though.

Faster than you think. Once the rain stops... A couple days.

You can probably put your poles and shrimp bait away for a while.

It depends, of course, on where you're shrimpin'. The entrance to Jack's Creek will probably be back to normal almost immediately.

The Cooper river basin drains pretty quick but it can take 12 days or more for the Northern most drop of water to make it through the Santee drainage basin.

Water was pretty salty today in the North Edisto. I'd shrimp Tuesday if I could.

How is it looking down near St Helena? Trying to decide whether to cancel this weekends trip?

I think you'll be okay, I'm heading down this weekend as well. If the south side is muddy just head over to the north side.

Are they putting any sort of contamination advisory? I saw where they did with oysters just not sure on shrimp.

Beaufort and south are definitely fine. I'd honestly eat shrimp from anywhere south of the Stono. Not sure if there is an official advisory though.

I'm guessing there is a pile of freshwater dumping into St. Helena

Water is clear but black. Fish are biting.
