If you install it correctly you shouldn't have an issue. Washing heavily with fresh should help curb it a lot like on everything else on an aluminum boat used in salt water. I think the biggest part reducing pitting on aluminum boats is to make sure nothing is grounded to the boat itself. Ground everything to the battery.

10 4 that's what I was thinking just started wondering bout that.
