Default Custom VS Out of the box arrows

Just curious about the hunters are here.

How many of you shoot custom arrows, (squared, spine indexed, fletchings and fletchings orientation) any or all of the above?

How many of you just grab a box and have them cut?

Thinking about getting some other arrows to see how they shoot also. Nothing wrong with what Im shooting now, but that way I can have some knowledge of what else is out there and how they perform.

I just have mine cut at the shop then I put a 4" white wrap and blazer vanes with a 3 degree helical on all my arrows. Out of the box will do just fine as well. All depends on how detailed you want to be on your accuracy.

There was a time where having a set of arrows setup for you was a good thing. I don't think that's the case anymore. If you are looking for better accuracy arrows are the last thing I would worry about.

I switched from 2" to 3" fletchings and noticed increased accuracy... However I cannot comment on the correlation, as it may be in my head, and I don't know enough to tell you why it would, but it seemed to increase accuracy...

Out of the box arrows btw with proper spine

Shoot the arrows out of the box, until the fletchings fall of. Go to academy, and buy the quick fletch with blazer veins for $15 per 6. Dunk them in hot water, and your done. Veins are stronger and more accurate than any tech has installed them because they always have the part timer doing them or in a rush so I never trust a archery shop fletching job. Plus its cheaper and you don't have to fool with glue or people.

Build my own. 5" feathers, left helical. Plastic VANES, not veins, are tacky and for poor people.

I shoot maxima reds out of the box. I have shot all different kinds and brands of arrows. For me there is not a better hunting arrow on the market. But everyone has an opinion.

I shoot Maxima Blue Streaks out of the box. I've shot Gold Tips and Eastons but switched to these when I bought my Elite. They don't weigh 4lbs each like the ones Glennda shoots, but I've been pleased with them.

I also do what DHall recommended to you. Shoot the Blazers that come on them until they wear out, then put on the Quikfletches. If you can boil water, you can refletch your arrahs without having to spend any money on jigs, glue and all that other bullshit and mess that goes along with it.

Fletching your own arrows with feathers is a very intimate process and aids in the attempt to "become the arrow". Glenn makes his own feathers from turkeys that he has harvested.
He then passionately adheres the turkey's feathers to his shaft. Glenn is a serious bowhunter.

I shoot Easton injexions 400s cut at 28 inches. They come with a wrap and blazers so I shoot them as is. Arrows I've shot in the past I've added a 4 inch white wrap and white or yellow blazer vanes. I don't see the need for feathers if your bow is tuned correctly.

If you put those pre-made fletching abominations on your arrows you are busch league.
