Ground beef, ketchup, chili powder, little H2O, salt and pepper. My mom used to add a little brown sugar, but I think that makes it too sweet.

My bride won't eat a hot dog, so I don't get them much. I may go all Coney Island on July 4th tonight.

Shit, y'all go all out for a dog. I just open a can of Texas Pete chili sauce and pull the Ballpark/Nathans/Hebrew National off the grill. Of course I like to put caramelized onions and sauerkraut on them too.

I mean seriously, how long before that tube of mystery meat and critter parts becomes a gut bomb looking for the emergency exit to your colon. Nothing makes a turd for me faster than a hotdog.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    Nothing like details.

Sauerkraut is good but Bowman artichoke relish is better. It sticks with you a bit better.

Not my recipe, came from John Setzler from the Man Cave Meals videos. We love it.

    Ingredients:

12 oz of a beer of your choice (choices here will change the flavor of the chili)
1 lb ground beef (I used 93/7 but 90/10 would work well too)
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1 1/4 cup ketchup
    1/3 cup yellow mustard
    3 teaspoons sugar
    1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 tablespoon chili powder
    Directions:

Place the ground beef in a dutch oven and mash it up completely. Try to chop it up as finely as possible so no large clumps remain. Just as the ground beef is almost brown, dump in 12 ounces of beer (I used
Sierra Nevada Glissade) and bring to a slow boil. Let the ground beef boil slowly in the beer for about 15-20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients to the dutch oven and return to a slow boil, stirring regularly. Allow the chili to reduce to a consistency that you like and then simmer covered for 30-45 minutes. Allow the chili to cool and then place it in a container in the refrigerator overnight before serving (not required but a good idea.) Otherwise serve immediately or freeze for future use.

Let me know how you like this one!

This is from my high school. Recipe hasn't changed in 25 years. It's pretty damn unbelievable chili. This is for a huge ass pot, but you can do the math to cut it down. This is enough for 125 dogs.

    Williamsburg Academy Famous Chili Sauce

    5 pounds ground beef
    1 (32-ounce) bottle ketchup
    4 to 5 medium-size onion, chopped
    1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
    2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 bottle Piggie Park (Maurice's) barbecue sauce (hot)
    Salt and pepper, to taste
    Brown ground beef; drain.

Place all ingredients in large saucepan and simmer 4 hours.

I like that nasty Hormel Chili with Beans in a can. Dump a big pile on a dog/bun with onions and mustard and eat it with a knife and fork.
