Default Is there such a thing as a slam dunk?

not in turkey hunting....i tell ya.

and before I get started, I aint one to believe you can jinx anything, either.

went this morning to listen for youth day. had scwatty and guy with me since we were gonna go set up the FF booth right after.

got to a spot i listened last weekend and heard a good bit of gobbling.

they were there again. a passel of em.

then, we see a couple jakes and hens come across the field towards the gobbling. its still early. next thing we know, a bird is strutting in the plot with a friend and we get out of there.

i dont think I will sleep well tonight.

my boys have a friend spending the night and i dont think Connor is near as excited as me.

and he will not like me when I wake him up.

but we know where to be.

is there such a thing as a slam dunk?

nope...but i cant wait to find out.

turkey hunting makes my sticker peck out.

Junior has his camo's neatly arranged in his room, boots, socks, mask, gloves, and his hat. Hope we at least hear some birds and God help me if we get one within range.

Oh, I'm as excited as he is, my clothes have been set out all week!

    not no but HELL NO!

There's always a "variable" it is the X factor or the unknown.

Do what I told you to do and don't get impatient and you should be ok given that the "variable" doesn't screw it all up for you.

2th, same kinda setup except we heard some birds then they went silent. Did some snooping around, busted by an old bitch hen. Got something to eat and back in the woods by 11am. Let junior practice some calling and lo and behold if'n 4 toms didn't show up dragging 2 hens with them. Long story short, 1 got within 15 yds only to have the shooting stick slip and we watched the birds leave the field. Never really spooked them but just couldn't get situated for a shot. He was excited and upset at the same time.
