First Hog
Went hunting this afternoon in Georgetown. We pull into the rice field and within 5 minutes of being on the tower( there is a 40 foot tower right on the edge of the rice field) we see a group of 4 hogs. We only have shotguns because we were out duck hunting that morning and only have 4 random slugs in the bag. The hogs were about 150 yards out from the tower so we waited for them to come to us. We waited about 30 minutes and they kept at that distance. The wind was blowing from them to us so we decided to see if we could sneak up on them. The bullrushes were so high we had to constantly look up at my brother in law in the tower for his directions for where to turn. We got within 20 yards and unloaded what we had on them. My nephew and I dropped two good sizes hogs and had a blast. Dragging those suckers back across a mucky rice field about gave me a heart attack. I know they are common down here in SC but we don't get much of them in VA.
