If you like valvoline then run the durablend & it will last the 10k that computer says you have till its time to change. Its not as pricey as the syn.

I change the filter every 2500 miles and the oil at 5000 with synthetic Mobil 1. Bad stuff goes in the filter, so I probably could go to 10k. The oil change interval in the owners manual of my Porsche was 25k using Mobil 1. MG

turn the key to the on position and its 3 pumps...im a GM mechanic, and i would recommend that you use whatever your owners manual calls for, and change it at every 5k. dont mess with synthetic because once you start using it your not suppose to stop. I change my oil in my person car every 5k and use a regular ol conventional motor oil.....oil is oil as long as you change it you will be good.

Have an 03 GMC z71 and change it every 5k with Mobil 1 clean 5000 10w-30. Always used a delco filter and it usually sets me back about $15 for everything. When I had the duramax I would wait until 10k because it holds 3 gallons and if you didnt drive hard the oil would still look good at 7k, always used rotella 15w-40. Synthetic oil cost to much to justify using it when conventional oil works fine.
