I’m in the same boat. Looking for a reasonable fee club within 2 hours of Elgin.

What's a "reasonable price" for a proven field? Serious question.

Lots of variables to consider to answer that. The amount of ground planted, number of members, etc... Even bigger factor is whether or not the one running the club just wants to recoup the funds that it took to plant and provide for the birds or if they are trying to use the club as a source of income.

Do they typically get a decent amount of birds? I used to drive by that farm a lot to/from Florence.

hey ralph. I got your back....

and whats wrong with a field owner making money? geez.

BB-- i think paying $1000 for a dove club is certainly not unheard of, by any means.

It's always been a good area for doves. I really don't know much about the club, but the owners are good farmers.

    It's 1 mile from I20 and about 4 miles from I95.

My son and I joined there for one year and went back to shooting public fields if that tells you anything.

A buddy of mine got me in his club down here for $600. I would've gladly paid $1000. Can't wait.

I pay $200 for my club and we shoot 10acres of usually very clean clearfield sunflowers.

But, it’s a sweat equity club. We all work hard to make it a good field. It’s a group effort of fixing the fences, planting and keeping it clean. If weeds pop up we pick a day and a group of us will get together and go through each row with backpack sprayers to take care of it.

    It works well for us

I was so ate-up with it that I committed this club, almost four hours from our house. Quickly came to my senses and declined. $1,400 for four hunts.

I'd say you did pretty good. What area? For the record I'm not looking for a club, just curious.
