Gamecocks and the tigers take the sweep in their opening weekend.
Some dude in Cali got hit by a pitch 7 times in 8 appearances at the plate in their opener double header.

SC got whacked today. It was ugly to watch. But it’s baseball. It happens from time to time I guess.
These first games have been too easy. When they went up 3-1, I thought "good...let's see how this squad responds." Ouch. Last year's squad was ripping the cover off the ball and seemed to never get rattled. It's early. It's baseball. We will know a lot about how this season is likely to evolve come a week from Monday.

Rainy weekend predicted.
So...it's close enough to start worrying that the forecast is correct. Looking like a frog-choker of a soaking Friday with the rain clearing out late for a decent Saturday and Sunday. On any normal weekend, they'd likely just make it a double header on Saturday. I think I read that the 2nd game (neutral site game) is in Columbia this year (VS it being in Greenville...maybe it's always been that way?) just minutes away. If so, is there any chance they could/would do a DH on Saturday with the first game starting early-morning...say 9am...and the second game starting late afternoon...say 6pm? It would be stupid tight and likely a traffic cluster, but that should give plenty of time to get folks moved over to the other stadium without there being too much of a traffic jam...right? Regardless, the rain is going to make this novel home/neutral/away situation a lot more of a headache than it otherwise would be. I hope they have contingency plans other than canceling game one and moving it to some random date TBD in the future.

Anyone heard what plan B is going to be for THE series? Just looked at the Columbia radar and hourly forecast, and it looks like a better chance for major flooding than for playing a baseball game.

Good to talk, see you out there!

As of now everything is a go for tomorrow, no word on when the game will be made up as of now.

I feel sorry for the Clemson fan base having to listen to these baseball broadcasters every game. This broadcast has been the most Mickey Mouse display of technical incompetence in the history of sports broadcasting. Great plays going on everywhere while the camera focuses on the batter running the first base line…or some kid flossing in the stands…or someone scratching their nuts in the bullpen…or a pigeon pooping off a rail. Throw the amateur announcers in, and it’s a disaster. This is what we get for our ACC + and SEC + money?! Joke.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
