The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
I talked to Bucky and Angie yesterday and the city's increase in small business taxes and his 25 year lease expiring are his reasons for closing the Tuna. He and Angie are both already talking about the new places they're opening in the next few months. Bucky's will be a bar, not for the 25 year olds (where Front St deli used to be) and Angie's will be a place you can rent for parties (the current location). Those two are go getters, connected with the money, and know how to make it work in that town. Back in my drinking days, I hate to think how many thousands and thousands of dollars I gave the big Tuna from the days of his first location in the 700 block that burned down (where Dogwood took over) to the current spot.

Hate see any business close. We used to hang out at the old River Room.
I knew the port had closed, but not that the city had it. I guess that means no more dredging. Wonder how it will take the ship channel to fill in.

Hate to hear that. Love it or not it's definitely a staple.
But let’s not forget the trouble and expense highland resources endured to clean the Magnolia site.
Leadership in the city has turned over. There’s folks that love Gtown and want to see it prosper now. Not the ones who robbed it blind and kept things from happening. It may not be as long as you think.
15yrs ago the hospital looked into buying the mill site. The remediation estimate then was $15-20M. Couldn’t imagine what it is today.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

We enjoy going to Georgetown over driving to MtP from McClellanville for most things. It’s not gonna be long before the developers $$ make it boom
