Thought the diver was about to drown!
Low country redneck who moved north
Saw that on qualified captain. Allegedly lost all power and was near able to drop anchor after that.
The day you don't bitch about your insurance company
That big bitch needs a real tugboat and hawser but I would bet there is nothing strong enough on that Viking to withstand the pressure needed to free it without the tide getting under it.
The lawsuits coming from that one should be good.

Crawler crane will be along shortly.
They pulled it back in the water this afternoon.
won't have much grass on the bottom after that
Screw that line-snapping bunch of nonsense! Nope.
“I can’t wait ‘till I’m grown” is the stupidest @!#* I ever said!
"Both engines locked up and generator malfunctioned".
"Locked up" makes me think they overheated and seized. Both at the same time is highly improbable. Total bullshit. And I've never heard of a generator that "malfunctioned". They can be hard to start, and they sometimes shut down, but malfunction? What does that even mean?
Either way, that boat has 2 generators. The boat in the link below has 2 40kW Onan E-QD diesel generators or something similar. I ripped this out of this site. https://www.siyachts.com/yachting-ne...92-viking-cost
Sounds like a fuel supply problem.
Also, if I were the decision maker there, we would have waited until the sea was calmer. Near shore wave action in the Palm Beaches is usually very calm.
Knowledge is power.
Got a phone call one afternoon.
Brother was fishing the canyons out beyond Nantucket on a friend's 35 Cabo.
Engines shut down & wouldn't start.
Having a sat phone paid for itself.
Walked them thru a few things to check - turned out to be fuel system breakers.
I get invited offshore often even though I'm 1000 miles away.
I read in another Facebook group that the boat's fire suppression system had a false alarm/malfunction and it has an override that shuts down all engines and generators to prevent continuing to feed a fire. They couldnt reset it on the fly and the winds and surf conditions carried it right into the beach. They got it out of there and it has no gel coat on the bottom of the bow and bent rudders and props. No water got in and they feel theyll be able to repair it and move on.
90 feet is too big for a sportfisher. What are you going to do in a 500 square foot salon? Have a Roman orgy? Park your flats boat inside?
