We used to dog hunt it in the 80's between Christmas and New Years. I grew up beside it and roamed those woods regularly.

I guarantee their "saved from development" plan is already in action to sell those wetland credits for a shiny penny to a developer who is filling in some in another location to build some apartments. Thats the part of that deal they don't tell you about.

Probably purchased from a state politicians relative.
I was just talking to the man who owns the small marina/landing where I keep my boat
and he was telling me about a very small parcel that the state had recently purchased for another purpose
around the corner from him for a ridiculous price.........then he said, the seller was the aunt of a Senator

The DNR doesn't buy land for you to hunt on. They buy land for you to stay off of.

For all the crap USFS takes, they're adding tracts left and right that will be open to the public inside SC.

It’s in Lexington county and it’s a very nice tract. It has high hills and swamp. It also ties in with other projects they have going on.

The state is buying and being gifted lots and lots of land. It sounds all well and good but what ends up happening is no one is really able to use it. I guess that may be the point. On sort of a different subject it is beyond me why the feds will not let people legally bow hunt the congaree nation monument for deer and hogs.
