Get a 30’ panga
Can run single or dual motors and still sip fuel. I have a 25’ Imemsa and it’ll go anywhere our 30’ hydrasport will go and 1/10th the cost.

The Dusky are tanks!
I've spent time on three different ones from 23 to 28 ft

Dusky is a tank. can be a bit wet and is a bit narrow. I have an older 256. No complaints but I would go with the older 321' cape horn for the $$. Holds plenty fuel, very dry, and a very nice ride.
I fish one pretty regular and have been very impressed. The newer models don't hold near the fuel and have way too many creature comforts for a work boat. As Cali said, holla if you want to ride one, cape horn specifically...

Something like this.
I second Cali on the Duskys. Ran a 26 or 7 in the Bahamas and was impressed for sure.

27 or 31 Contender....fix the tanks, slap some reasonable power on there and roll out.
ETA: If looking new? Dusky, Pair Custom, Parker, Bluewater, Competition.

We had a 25’ Dusky rental in the keys this year. It was nice and a good ride. I was impressed
More Ducks, Less People

I'm talking with Dusky Marine, and definitely interested in going that route, but reaching out to SC manufacturers as well. Most are over our potential budget, but want to at least get an idea/make contact. I'm familiar with most of the offshore models, but haven't heard much about the Pioneer Pelagic 270...anybody have any experience with this boat?
I looked heavily into LTB boats a few years ago. Used to be able to get an unrigged 25 for around $60k. Stupid simple layout and a hull that could go offshore when needed. Their website doesn't show a no frills build, but I would imagine if you called they may still do it.

What kind of longlining? What size spool? Need a fish hold or on deck box?
Occasional bluewater/nearshore longlining using a waterman electric drive reel/spool. Platform would be a multipurpose boat though, also would be used for diving, hook and line, trapping etc.
Fireman, I like the looks/layout of that 29. Wish it was already in production!
its so much more fun spending other people's money....
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Not as much fun as you'd think...that said, I'm grateful. First boat that our group has purchased in 25+ years
Panga!!!!!!
