The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

That’s cool, I’m a fan of the Upstate, but Clemzin sucks.
4 fields within 2-3 miles of each other in Spartanburg County. We hunt 2 of them. 10-15 planted acres each. Flowers and millet. Both fields are covered with more birds arriving daily. Not sure of the other 2 fields but I'm sure they have a few as well.

WMA field. Last season it was a total bust, no seed heads on the sunflowers since they planted so late, millet was still green. I watched the field the evening before opener with my daughter. We enjoyed snacking on muscadines from a nearby vine but I counted maybe 20 birds. So I didn't go.
This pic is about a month old. Went yesterday and the sunflowers are all dead and dropping seeds. At around noon I was flushing doves like quail without even going inside the sunflowers, just walking the perimeter.
To their credit, it looks like DNR did a fantastic job with this field. Surely it'll be crowded, but I've had barrel burner WMA dove hunts in Tennessee. Never had a good one here yet, but if the numbers look good the evening before opener, I'll give it a shot.
