Help wanted....

I'm in the same boat, Feets. Been trying to find guys and it's tough. Someone recently made a statement to me about the younger generation that seems to be true - they will do exactly what you tell them and nothing more. There seems to be very little initiative and drive.

As with everything I realize there are outliers, but what I've experienced leads me to believe that's a fairly on point general statement.

It’s the absolute truth. I’ve got a couple of great folks in Lexington, but finding reliable yard guys that can simply load customers and take simple instructions has been damn near impossible the last couple of years. I’ve been paying $8-10/hour people $13/15 and they won’t even show up.

I hired one Brazilian guy, now I have four. Fired the white guy because he just sucked. Problem is these guys work so much and so fast, they’ll get ahead of the other trades.

As much as I want to keep it legit Every is coming. It's the only way the Red team is going to stop the boarder invasion.

I hate it for all the folks that legit want to work, because they will work. Now translation is a bitch at times. But they will work and work hard, much harder than the kid that thinks he/she/it is worth 18-20 and Siri has to tell it when to piss.

My lead Brazilian guy makes $35/hr, my 2nd is at $25, 3rd at $18 and new guy helper $12. Some will work for table scraps, the guys with skills know their worth. I pay them well and they’ll do anything I ask without complaint. The white guy I had had no skills, laid out, always trying to be on the phone, was slow, messed up everything he was put on and whined about making $20/hr. He got caught padding his hours, left early, came in late etc. Yeah, I’ll take the hardworking, honest brown dude any day, they get paid and so do I.
