    Default His last retrieve

I hate typing this, but my GSP Hart, is pain free now. He had rods in his legs since about 10 weeks old, but loved to chase quail even when his body told him to quit. He just couldn’t. While he was sometimes a pain in the ass, I finally figured out he was just smarter than I was. He’s been retired for a while, but I found 1 old bird I shot over him to give him 1 last go. Delivering to hand was never a problem, getting it out of his mouth was sometimes a challenge. Osteosarcoma is a bitch, but he never complained. Hell I don’t know how he could stand the pain. Hopefully he is past the pearly gates now and he and my Father just found their first wild covey together in Heaven. Godspeed, Hart.

Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

Man I hate reading these. The Lord sure knew what he was doing when he gave us dogs as man’s best friend

It still amazes me how much love we can have for a dog, and even more amazed how much those dogs love us.

Godspeed Hart, and sorry for your loss brother

Never easy, and sorry for your loss.

Did he develop the osteosarc at the site of injury as a pup?

Sent this to a friend who lost his dog not too long ago. Dog’s name was actually Sam.

As best I can tell it was fairly recent. He couldn’t put weight on it about a month ago, but the knot of cancer developed within the last 30 days
