Default Darlington Gun Works... Jim Kelly

Mr Jim passed away last night from what I am reading. His wife just passed a little over a week ago. Prayers for the family.

I got to hold one of the bo whoop shells, they refinished an old gun of mine. It was worth it, I was told I owned the most expensive Wingmasters in the state afterwards. I think my father has only shot it twice since.

At one point in my life I owned houses within 10 miles of where it was lost and where Mr. Kelly’s shop is.

He was one of the best, only had him work on one gun for me.

Are they going to keep the shop open, or will it close?

I'm sure that other gentleman will run it. Last time I was in there, it seems like a big portion of their work was from overseas. They had 3 or 4 other employees working to keep up with the demand.

My wife is Jim and Diannes daughter. We will be keeping the shop open, as I've apprenticed under Jim and worked here at the shop for 14 years. The crew here wishes to keep the legacy alive and well. Thank you all for the well wishes and condolences on our loss. -Josh
