There were a bunch of them on the Arkansas River this Jan. A couple of them almost came up on the short end of the stick when they flew across a rice field and those guys thought they were snows. I have to admit at first I thought they were too as we had snows all over us that morning.

We winter about 80-100 on Marion every year since 2013 or so.

I see pairs and small groups in the ACE Basin in the winter as well.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

There are about 20-25 that have been hanging around Broad River between the fields the last few days.
