Grew up on one and still live on the now paved portion. Dad built roads for a living for 45 years with me tagging along since 5yrs old. Been signing the checks for logging roads to be built and repaired for past 17 years. I can't promise you my way will work everytime but I have seen a lot over the years to give you an idea of what will work and won't work.

You got most of the rest right
You can fix any road with a dozer and the right material in any condition......you might not like the $

And true on the Aiken County comment

So the final decision is to let it dry as much as possible then go in a do it right. BTW, Camden outta Sumter jumped right on it. Dropped pin, he rolled out and took a look at it. I can get in if i hug the high side but it's nasty. I appreciate all of the feedback. Lesson learned. When it's wet, stay off of it!

That's also one of the reasons power companies have winches on the front of most of their vehicles, especially the ones doing repairs.

For sure. Never underestimate the other guy's stupidity, and always have a way to block off any road that you need everyone from the possum police to the nosy neighbor from destroying on a whim...
