    Default Reel Parts

Anyone have a good source for reel parts? I can't seem to find what I need.

I have two Quantum levelwind trolling reels that the Paw (the gadget that contacts the worm gear and causes the line guide to go back and forth) has broken off one of it's two teeth, causing the line guide to hang up at the end of it's travel to the left and/or right. I can't find this part for this reel to save my life. Any help? I guess my last resort is to go down to Haddrell's tomorrow...they are supposedly an authorized repair shop for Quantum.

it actually called a pawl- with a L on the end- might help with looking it up.

the hull truth website has some vendors that sell reel parts, has a guy named triumph rick that offers a tear down, cleaning and repair service dirt cheap and does great work-
I would call Haddrells first, they don't stock odd parts- if all else fails just take the level wind off- the reel works just fine without it.

PM Captain Tom and see if the guy that shared his shop is still in the biz.

    Pull the levelwind off.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I usually pull a schematic online, find the part I need, then just Google it. Oftentimes, eBay is where the purchase ends up being made.

The problem is I can't find the schematic. Otherwise I'd google the part.

Try here. He has tons of schematics for nearly every brand reel out there, and the parts to along with it. I've found parts for several obsolete reels.

Thanks. I've been all over that website and they have a ton...just not mine. I've emailed quantum to see what they say. Honestly it looks like there are only about 3-4 variations across all manufactures...I might luck out at Haddrells tomorrow.

I've also checked here http://www.alantani.com/ but I have to wait for that guy to approve my membership before I can ask the question.

Hell, by the time you track it down you could have bought a decent reel. Trolling reels don't have levelwind.

As already mentioned, hop on THT and pm Triumphrick. The dude will probably tell you everything you need to know and what parts you would need, and may even have em himself.
