New Zealand Will Give You a Free Trip If You Agree to a Job Interview

    http://www.esquire.com/lifestyle/mon...-trip-for-job/

If New Zealand is on your bucket list, it's time to fill out a job application. You see, the tech industry in Wellington, New Zealand is trying to recruit experts from around the world to their community, so they're offering a free trip if you can prove you want the job and deserve an interview.

They're calling it a "global talent attraction program" and 100 potential recruits will be invited on the free (yes, free) week-long trip. But, of course, the catch is you have to prove why you could serve as a software developer, creative director, product manager, analyst or digital strategist to get a free ticket. Once you do, your itinerary will be filled with interviews and meetings with others in the New Zealand tech community members, as well as excursions around Wellington.

Interested? Register online with LookSee Wellington. After applying, tech communities around Wellington will nominate their favorite candidates and LookSee will invite the 100 most-nominated candidates to the city for the program—airfare and accommodations included. And as if this dream trip weren't fantastic enough, at the end of the week companies will make job offers to those they're interested in hiring. Talk about a win-win.

Applicants have to submit their resume by March 20 for the May 8 to 11 trip.

Dang. Wish I was an IT guy. NZ has some great hunting, and they refuse visas to anyone who can't prove that they can support themselves, and that they would be a value to society.

Kiwi's are a buncha heartless racists. I saw an 84 Lumber commercial of migrant sheep shearer's trying to get onto the island, but they couldn't program new software to help with the process.

A lot of mallards. Too many to suit them cause if I'm not mistaken they are considered an invasive species. You can hunt them year around and there's no limit.

We had a guy from New Zealand on here a few years back. He hung around a while and I remember a post with some pictures and story about a hunt with his buddies. If I remember right it was just a wet field where he and his buddies drove their 4-wheel Toyotas to rut it up before a rain storm. A couple of days later after the rain stopped with the ruts full of rain water they put out a few decoys and slaughtered the mallards. He said they do that stuff often.

Sounds too good to be true. Wish they needed a fresh out of college bio major.

They have some killer trout fishing too. They hold the world record brown trout at 42 lbs.

Spent a semester of college in Australia and kick myself all the time for not going to NZ while I was down there. When the shit hits the fan here, NZ is where I am headed.

Meh. I qualify, but if I go to NZ, it won't be to go hang out with a bunch of computer nerds.

And I'd have to learn to write my code from right to left.
