Not quite. There is moisture in antlers especially with velvet but very little difference on the tape.

I agree, the skull does dry up, and that makes a difference on the spread. I know two official B&C scorers, one is a whitetail rack collector who has been scoring deer for nearly 40 years. When he tells me that deer will lose some mass, I believe him. And when you hear people talking about the difference in green and final score, sometimes 5" or more, you really think they lost that much in spread?

Believe what you want to believe. I'm just going by what I have been told.
