looking to spend $2500-$3000 on a quality, accurate rifle and scope for hunting deer to elk.
what is the best bang for the bucks?
I want MOA capable with factory ammo and super low light scope.
NO MAGNUMS

Zeiss Diavari V 3-12x56
Most any rifle
Sako 85 topped with a Meopta R2 or Leica ERi. Chambered in .308 or 30'06.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013
Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather with a used Zeiss 3-12x56 Diavari
If you could find a Remmy 700 LVSF in 308 or 7mm08 and then top it with the new SHV F1 it would be very very hard to beat.
Genesis 9;2
I'd buy a $2500 pistol
Spend $500.00 on the rifle and $2,000.00 on the scope.
A Zeiss Daivari V will whip any NF in the low light department, no questions asked.
Hell it will whip em all.
Its the best low light scope on the market.
You asked for an MOA capable rifle.
Id counter with MOA at range?
Most hunting range, most any will do. Its personal preference.
Because at the end of the day you are shooting factory ammo.
So a custom rifle is money wasted.
Cuz thats like trying to run reg unleaded gas in a Ferrari.
Theres my long answer.
I put a Vortex PST on my Win mod 70 XW 300 winmag. Common off the shelf setup for what you're looking for. Not much recoil for round either.
Savage rifle plus a best scope & mounts with the money left over.

If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.
