Default Need Help - Go Devil Service - Charlotte/Fort Mill Area

    Have a 98 Go-Devil LT 25 HP Kohler Engine.

Anybody know someone around here that will work on them? I have a lot of play in the shaft now and probably needs bearings packed, etc. I am not invested in it being a certified Go-Devil Service. Just maybe a guy who knows a guy.

    Any help appreciated.

As long as you have a valid serial number go devil is usually helpful with parts/advice from what I've been told.

Go devils use bushings and seals that will wear out. I'd buy and replace those.
    Is it leaking grease?

Not that hard to tear it apart. Call gd and get parts sent and put em in.

Thanks guys. Brother rebuilt it last time and told me to try a couple of things first.

    It's not leaking grease.

For a number of reasons it is not something I would be interested in doing myself. If what he suggested doesn't work, I'll still be looking for someone to tighten it up for me.

What do you mean by tighten up? What issues are you having?
When was the last time you greased it?

Usually worst part about this is getting the prop off.

When I say tighten it up I just mean do whatever needs to be done. Not actually tighten anything. I am going to start with some grease and go from there. I give it a couple of pumps here and there but it's been a while since I really put the grease to it.

The issues am having is a lot of vibration. Seemed like there was a lot of play in it too but it was not more than what is considered "normal". Hasn't been that long since everything was replaced, but I knocked it around quite a bit this morning and then started having the vibrations, etc.

Try giving it a good dose of grease, that should take some vibration out. Was it re-greased after it was worked on last time?

Really appreciate the help. That is the message I am getting.

It was greased after it was worked on last time, but that was a long time ago. Just not a lot of hours ago. I am going to give it a whirl and I'll post an update.

    Thanks again

Thank you sir. I really appreciate it. I am going to tinker with it a bit and I'll get up with you if I run into any roadblocks.
