Before you molest that motor, sell it to me and upgrade to a 50 hp

hahaha I just want a little more out of it. I don't want a race motor.
Cost of investment to increase power/speed will likely not be worth the ROI.

What hull is the 40 on? What prop at what RPM are you turning? Jack plate? There might be "more" in it if you just get the setup right. Give us more information!

Going to be on a 1754 War Eagle come Friday. Tiller. I know, I know hull is big. I just like this little motor and don't want to get rid of it. Like I said, Just want a little more push out of it.
Add a few more stickers to that yeti and it'll up it about 10hp.
Buy you a tuner or make one and bolt carbs on it. Clip gray wire and blast off
Honestly, just prop it right and roll on. I wouldn't go threw the hassle for 2mph

2 mph?
What Santee said.
The only difference between a Yammie 40 & 50 is the input and the exhaust. Open up the carb jets and put an aftermarket exhaust tuner. Get the motor up on the transom some, put on a tiny tach to determine the rpm. Find ya a good prop that'll spin 6000+ and roll with it baby like Steve Winwood.
