My wife and I eloped 9 years ago. We did dinner at McCrady's. Fun night. Nobody even knew we were engaged. Good memories.

Wild Onion (Johns Island) is one of my favorites. They have a spin off on Sullivans Is, name Obstinate Daughter that is also very good but you'll definitely need reservations well in advance.

McGrady's, Peninsula Grill, Hank's, Anson are also reliable for a very nice dinner. A really good lunch spot in Mt. Pleasant is Graze in the Whole Foods shopping center.

Yeah, $100 can be light for a good fine dining experience for two.

Hell, most places that require shoes will cost $100.

Congrats. Sounds like a big, exciting week!

    I survived!

Just wanted to update the thread one last time. We ended up at the Charleston Grill, Hall's didn't have any openings. The Grill was great, I've never been anywhere that nice before and I was super impressed with the service. They sat us in a booth off to ourselves with a congratulations card waiting at our table. The manager, hostess, waiter and chef all came to congratulate us and covered the first glass of bubbly and a sampling of some appetizer that was a little like heaven on a spoon.

We got the Crab cake appetizer, 22 oz rib eye and the duck plate. My first time trying foie gras. The steak was excellent, the duck was excellent. For dessert, we had a local baker make us a wedding cake and deliver it to the restaurant. They sliced it for us and brought two glasses of complimentary muscato along with chocolates. The wife drank both of our glasses.

Highly impressed with everything they did for us and it was honestly a nice evening out. The food and service was great and I think we will be going back for our 1 year anniversary.

    Thanks for all the help.

    Oh and Charleston traffic sucks.

Sounds like an awesome time. Best of luck to you and your new bride. Marriage is what you make it. If you're lazy about it, you'll both be miserable, if you work at it, it'll be better than you can imagine......

I live downtown and love trying all of the latest spots. Right now, my favorite places to eat are 1) R. Kitchen (they only have an answering machine for reservations but if you're nice and tell them the circumstances I'm sure they will sit you. It's 25 dollars for 5 courses. Menu changes daily 2) Westendorph just opened and it's sooo good. Prices aren't bad, drinks and good are amazing. For lunch: I can't recommend Artisan Meat Share enough. Unreal sandwiches and meats. Also check out charleston.eater.com and look at the Heat Map. It's got all of the best places in town for any given month.

A good meal out with the wife is good for the marriage every once in a while. Don't forget that...
