    Default Ford 3.5L Ecoboost performance

Condisering getting a new truck but I drive a lot of miles. For anyone with a 2015 Ford with the 3.5L, what kind of actual miles are you seeing? Sticker says 25 MPG highway, which is mostly what I drive, but I'm guessing that's on a 400 mile downhill slope.

I know you asked about 2015, but this may help. I have a 2014 Super Crew 4X4 with the 3.31 Electronic Locking Axle. I drive from Chapin to Lexington for work everyday on I26 going about 73mph. I pull a four wheeler or small boat on the weekends for hunting and fishing. I have averaged 19.8 mpg since the day I bought it. If I reset it to only Mon-Fri on highway I get about 23.2 at best. I hope this helps.

23.5 would be a material improvement over my Tacoma. Debating keeping my truck and getting an Accord or something or getting a new truck.

I have a '13 Supercrew with the heavy duty tow package and 3.73 gears if I remember correctly, I average 18 to 19 back and forth to work and I have a very heavy foot! I have a 35' travel trailer that weighs 7300lbs unloaded and it pulls it with absolutely no problem and 13-14 mpg.

KRT could you elaborate or send me a PM about tuning options and recommendations for the 3.5L Ecoboost? Not wanting to highjack his thread. Thanks.

Last time I looked into tuning the EcoBoost, I was quoted 80 more HP and 4 more MPG..

Kevin is the expert and I await his reply..

For you Ford owners saw this commercial the other day,

I will say this. I know absolutely nothing about ecoboost. Nor have I looked at or shopped a new truck since 2006. With that being said, if MPG is what you are shopping...Ram Trucks advertise 29 MPG...just say'n.

I don't know the in's and out's. Might be a 6 cylinder for all I know but worth looking in to.
