Caught a few on Murray before. I will attest to their viciousness, but hell, I've never seen a turtle not raise hell with a hook in it's mouth.

they're pretty common in lowcountry waters. ive seen thousands of them bowfishing.

if they are really deep or in murkey water, they look very similiar to a flathead. haha dont ask me how i know.

Can't fish with cut bait off our dock at Hartwell this time of year due to all of them. I usually just cut the line

I foul hooked a grown one in one of his back feet catfishing on pee dee one night. Talk about a fight... The level of disappointment after fighting something like that just to be a turtle is off the charts.
