Good Job. It wouldn't be a purist but a pussist!
The unforgivable crime is soft hitting. Do not hit at all if it can be avoided; but never hit softly.
Theodore Roosevelt
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
― Theodore Roosevelt
Absolutely would have shot him but surprised so many feel the same way. This same question had been asked on another forum(maybe the old DNR board) and most of the responses were the opposite. I've had the same thing happen to me before but didn't realize the bird landed in the tree. I just heard him land and was going crazy trying to figure out why I could not find him. After about twenty minutes thinking he had slipped out somehow I stood up and that's when he flew out of the tree about twenty yards from me. Why is it supposed to be unethical to take a bird that is being a little wary by staying in the trees but it's perfectly acceptable to kill a two year old that walks straight in on a string?
I would not have shot him, but I'm glad you did!
Congrats. Nice bird.
Crops are harvested, animals are killed.
Hell FUGGIN YES I would in a heart beat and be damn proud of it!
You've got one life. Blaze on!
If you wouldn't you may as well be one of those gay asses that put ziploc bags over a dead turkeys head.
You've got one life. Blaze on!
Think even my Dad would have shot that one.
Good story and better food porn.
I have, and will again if the bastard chooses to die that way...
F**K Cancer
Just Damn.

I'd shoot but I also shoot dove's on the power line sooo.
Hey big man lemme hol a dollar.
I'd shoot em faster than a dove on the power line. I'd do it in front of my momma and kids at the same time. I am all about fair hunt and ethical behavior but I don't see where this is even a question. I reckon certain folks like to catch certain stuff a certain way but that's for them to worry about. I look at hunting and fishing along the same lines as I look at sinning, I trust that my upbringing and my heart gives me a good idea of right and wrong, its not for someone else to decide.
You can grow up to be just like me....
