    Default Greenheads

I killed the mallard yesterday pretty early in my hunt yesterday. I was thinking I was done with shovelers for the season but got the idea for this photo and this guy showed up; wrong place at the wrong time I guess.

BTW - I had to be very careful handing the mallard so as to not get scratched by his two, long dewclaws...

Thanks but it's not about the killin'. It's about featuring the Shoveler as the universal prop for all duck prop shots.

you need a drake wood duck with that.

And I'm gonna bother you every year until I check the mail one day and there's a coffee table photo book in the box.

    Nice end.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I didn't have a single drake shoveler come close enough to shoot this year...I'm jealous.
Man and other animals were first vegetarians; then Noah and his sons were given permission to eat meat: “every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you” Genesis 9:3

"A man may not care for golf and still be human, but the man who does not like to see, hunt, photograph or otherwise outwit birds or animals is hardly normal. He is supercivilized, and I for one do not know how to deal with him." Aldo Leopold
