Default Things I learned this morning...

    1. Pumping 42 degree water from a creek will not keep a corn pond open when the nighttime low temperature is 13 degrees.

    2. Ducks will come to a flooded corn field even if it has frozen solid two nights in a row.

    3. A Chessie can walk on water.....when the ice is 3/8-inch thick.

    4. A Chessie that has never dealt with ice before is remarkably adept at breaking said ice to retrieve a downed duck.

    5. You don't seem to feel cold, even with a wind chill of seven degrees, as long as you're shooting ducks on the last day of your season.

    6. There really are "wild and noble sights....such as they who sit in parlors never dream of."

    7. If we can pass along these traditions to our young grandsons, we will have immeasurably enriched their lives.
That the Tiger's roar may echo.....

    1. I learned that when it is 7 degrees, even shallow, moving, water will begin to freeze.
    2. Seven degree temperature will not phase an American Water Spaniel. He retrieved
    11 ducks this morning.
    3. The on/off button on a Tri-tronic's e-collar receiver will freeze when it's 7 degrees
if you left it in the truck the night before.
    4. A dog vest is worth a million dollars. Maybe more for my piece of mind than his.
    5. Seven degree weather will not daunt an high school sophomore. He thought it
    was an adventure.
    6. Freeze ups are great news for public water.

Love it! Wish we could have a week long freeze up!
