Sound Bar

Trying to get my sound bar to hook up with my tv, dvd player and direct tv. I got the sound to work coming through the direct tv box but can't figure out how to get the sound from the dvd.

Best way is to hook the audio out from the tv to the sound bar. Then deliver audio to the tv through normal means like hdmi, component or RCA cables.

Choose an optical cable from the tv to the sound bar.

Yeah, hook it up optical from the soundbar to the TV and it'll work no matter what input the TV is on.
