    Default Tannerite

Just after nightfall Saturday night, we blew up a small container of tannerite.

I was a bit unimpressed. I mean...yeah, it was the small one, and the "BOOM" and vibrations were somewhat impressive, however, there was no flaming, self-extinguishing fireball.

I'm wondering if we should drop it in a glass jar next time and pour in gasoline just for good measure?

Anyone ever tried it? Were there pretty lights?

Never used it, but plan on experimenting with some.

I was looking at some tannerite at academy sports Saturday and a guy came up and grabbed a case of it right beside me. He was telling me that it's only "fun" when you get a gallon of gas or diesel fuel involved. I'm thinking a jar of tannerite, a gallon of gas, and the 20' circumference pile of leaves in my back yard should make my neighbors love me more than they do now....

No fire no lights, only smoke, boom, and sonic boom.

I have blown up a lot of shit with it. Mix you up a pound and a half, 2 liter bottle, stick in cell of 8 x 16 cmu block, then shoot at 75 yards with hi power rifle, and play can you find any concrete.....

Throw a bottle in a farm pond, the suction from the explosion is wikid. and it will make a gator roll belly up...

    Shits bad ass.

BTW, Gander has 20 1/2 charges for 79 I think...

PS> the rimfire is POS. Hi power only way to go.

Why? All you get is a lot of propane spewing everywhere. There's no explosion.

Put the propane tank in a metal bucket of gasoline.

    1. Put 1 lb of tannerite middle of corn pile.
    2. Wait for corn pile to fill up with hogs/deer
    3. Shoot Tannerite
    4. Pick up the pieces.

we shot several of various sizes this past Saturday. It was awesome. The bigger the load defiantly the bigger and better boom... They will do a number on stumps. shrapnel flying every direction if you get a hot load tucked in just right...

If Cali will chime in i think he has a video or two of the red-neck fun. I guarantee the folks fishing on the river close by were like WTF!

Here is my nephew on one last winter. the children love a big boom...

When I was a kid, the sheriff's dept had a kid's day and they had a can of gasoline and what appeared to be a candle behind it (it was long ago.) Then from about 200 yds away shot it with a rifle which produced a huge fireball. A couple of keys to this I learned over the years was the metal can, the candle and a good sunny day. The gasoline should be less than 75% of the volume of the can. The can must be a can, not glass and the nearby candle is need to insure combustion. I can tell you it is quite impressive, materials are readily available and leaves one hell of an impact on an eight year old kid. MG
