what purpose does a pistol serve?

seriously, besides target shooting and killing people, what are they for?

What other purpose do they need? RVZ said handguns are made for killing, they ain't no good for nothing else.....and that suits me fine.

They's good for shootin' paper, shootin' folks, and shootin' game animals (yes, some folks hunt with 'em)

Personally, I have hunted squirrels with my Ruger Mark II Gov't Target off and on.

They's also good fer shootin' cans, clay targets (fun), and whatever else strikes your fancy.

This may be a little off topic regarding a lady's gun but...

I plan on getting a .45 in the not too distant future for my carry gun.

Either a snub-nose 1911 (Kimber Ultra Compact II, etc) or a Glock 36 (.45 mini-glock).

Which one do yall think would be a better gun? I like them both pretty equally. Any other suggestions would also be appreciated.
