TEST INVENTORY AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

IDAHO LIST #5
1 March 2006

CONTACT: idaholist@salmoninternet.com

Below are the details of how the IDAHO LIST of test guns available from Gun Tests magazine will be conducted. This list is NOT handled by Benjamin Brooks, Gun Tests' Houston product coordinator; Mr. Brooks has no further information on these products.

Because of staff testing and writing commitments in Idaho, products from this list will be transacted via EMAIL ONLY.

Send an email ONLY IF YOU INTEND TO BUY the gun, and are able to make full payment immediately, so the payment reaches us within ten (10) days of our notification to you that you are the successful buyer.

Unless otherwise noted, all firearms are in nearly new condition, and include whatever packaging, manual, warranty, and accessories we got with the gun.

The only description available for the listed firearm is in the original published test report in Gun Tests. Read the report in the magazine carefully for a description of the gun and its features, and what we thought of it. PLEASE NOTE NEW POLICY!: In some cases we now sell firearms that received a "Don't Buy" rating in Gun Tests because of our newer, tougher comparisons, but we will never sell anything we know, or suspect, is defective. We make no warranty that you'll be happy with the gun, and all problems with the gun are the responsibility of the buyer and the original maker. Gun Tests will not be held responsible for any damage that occurs from its use. BE SURE you are LEGALLY allowed to own the specific gun in your area. Your dealer should be able to advise you on this point.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL!

All firearm-purchase requests from this "Idaho List" must be made via email.

NOTE: You MUST send your subscription code number (listed on the top of your address label) with your initial email, to verify you are a subscriber to Gun Tests.

Generally there is only one gun of a type for sale, and it is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We use the time and date stamp on emails to determine which reader was the first to indicate an intent to purchase the offered firearm. We will immediately notify the first successful emailer and will follow up with all necessary payment information, including shipping costs. If the original buyer defaults, we will contact number two.

If you are notified that you are the successful buyer, you must send a valid, ink-signed copy of your dealer's FFL along with payment for the firearm and for whatever shipping charges apply, and this MUST be received WITHIN 10 DAYS of our notification to you. If we don't get your payment within that time, or if you refuse, we will contact the next buyer.

NOTE: We will notify you of the exact shipping costs before you send your money.
We insure all shipments.

Once we receive your payment in full (cashier's checks or money orders only. NO PERSONAL CHECKS! We will send the firearm to your dealer in full accordance with federal laws, to which you and your dealer must comply. You will be responsible for any handling and log-in fees your local dealer may charge, plus any local sales taxes, and local/state/federal gun-law checks and restrictions. Once again, be sure you can legally own the gun before you buy.

GUNS AVAILABLE as of 1 March, 2006:

1) *.460 ROWLAND Conversion by Clark Custom Guns*

January 2006, CONDITIONAL BUY. Convert your 1911 into a pistol about as hot as a .44 Magnum. This KIT (not a gun, a conversion kit) with its excellent muzzle brake fit our Norinco 1911 perfectly. It can sling a 230-grain bullet at over 1300 fps, if you can stand it. Note: No FFL needed for this kit.
List price is $275. Your price: $260 including USPS Priority Mail shipping!
(48 states only, and on this item only.)

2) *RUGER RANCH RIFLE Kmini-14/5P, .223*

Dec 2006 BUY IT. This new, black-stocked stainless rifle shot well enough and functioned perfectly for us. If you're in the market for a handy .223 autoloading rifle, this one might be perfect.
List is $809. Your price: $650

3) *Olympic Arms K3B (AR-15) carbine, .223*

December 2005 OUR PICK. With a genuine collapsible stock, muzzle brake, and 30-round magazine, this short little rifle won our hearts. Oly Arms knows how to make good guns. Don't miss this one.
List is $780 but there's not much markdown, so your price: $750

4) *Walther P22 .22 LR pistol, WAP 22005 Long-barrel P22*

In the Feb 2006 issue we gave this little .22 a DON'T BUY rating, but there was NOTHING WRONG with it. We don't sell faulty guns. Our rating on this was in comparison to the shorter barrel version (already sold). You may prefer the longer sight radius and slightly greater weight of this version. It's a GOOD gun! We just didn't like it as much as the shorter one.
List is now $370. Your price: $325

5) *RARE: Walther PP Sport .22LR pistol*

February 2006 CONDITIONAL BUY, but the only thing "conditional" about this fine old target pistol is that it was more costly -- and in every way a finer firearm -- than the others against which it was tested. THESE ARE RARE! NOTE: this pistol has a very slightly bulged barrel, but that did not hurt its accuracy at all. This comes with two magazines, but only one has the curved extension on bottom. We loved this pistol, and you will too.
Your price: $1100

6) *S&W M317-2 AIR LITE .22 LR revolver, BARREL LENGTH IS 2.0"*

This 8-shot revolver was tested in the March 2006 issue, and we gave it a DON'T BUY rating because of its limited usefulness compared with the other two revolvers tested, but there's NOTHING WRONG with it. It's a great little revolver, amazingly light and probably very useful to you. Don't miss it!
List is $633, but your price is: $475

7) *Taurus M94BUL ULTRA-LITE NINE, .22LR revolver. March 2006 BEST BUY*

This nine-shot revolver was one of the nicest small .22 revolvers we've seen. We picked it over the S&W Air Lites for its great sights and much lower cost. This would be an ideal outdoorsman's gun, nine shots in just over a pound of well-made revolver.
List price is $375. Your price: $350

8) *Trulock & Harriss 12-bore 2.5" game gun*

October 2005 BUY IT. Here's an opportunity to own a genuine British "game" shotgun, choked quarter (50%) and full (90%). DO NOT SHOOT 2.75" SHELLS IN THIS GUN! The correct 2.5" ones are easily found online. The cracked forend is now fixed. This is a solid, well-made gun out of Dublin, Ireland (not Scotland as we published). Though reproved, the gun bears original London proof marks. The gun has 30" barrels, is non-eject, straight-hand stock with significant cast-off, has magnificent wood, and bears the original horn butt plate. The boxlock action bears about 50% engraving coverage in fine English scroll. Bores are excellent and shiny. See the original text for more details.
Price is now: $2500
