How many of you here get them? If so, how many tags and how much acreage do you have?

we get three for our neighborhood pond which is 7 acre. they tell us if we run out call and get more.

They sent me two last year, which we filled. DNR sent us four this year. Do you guys think they are finally getting serious about getting those damn lizards under control?

Ours were easy to get. You have to have the landowner contact your local DNR office and they will ask you some questions and they arrived later that week. That was the first year. After the first year, it is all done through the mail and also was very easy. They have a harvest report you must fill out each season in order to get more the next season.

Do you have to harvest them the same way as during the season or can you just shoot them with a rifle?

You are supposed to harvest them the same way as during season but if I recall correctly there is some verbage on the paperwork they send you about there being an exemption to that in "emergency situations" whatever that is defined as. I will try to dig up the paperwork and verify.

If I'm in an "emergency situation" the last thing I'll consider is the legality of killing it.
