Got in the woods once again before work this morning and all was quiet. Walking across the dam back to the hosue as it was time to leave and saw 6 birds feeding around in between the house and barn. Don't know where they came from but there they are. Ease off on the other side of the dam and sneak around to w/in 100 yards of them. This being one of the toughest seasons I can remember I figure I'll call to them a couple times and then ease on out as these birds will be unworkable. Do a couple quick yelps on the mouth call and I see him coming my way.
Being below the bird on the dam I can just see the top his head bobbing along looking for the lone hen. Wait for him to get to 30 yards, cluck at him, stop him, and BOOM goes the dynamite. Sometimes it's just too easy. I unfortunately couldn't find my damn scale to no weight measurements, but he had a 10.5" beard and just over 1" spurs. Hopefully I'll be able to get on a couple more before the season goes out. Anyone else notice how tough this year has been or is it just me?
Also, can anyone tell me what kind of car this hood is from? I've always wondered about this car badge but have no idea what brand/logo it is.
