    Default wife and computers

    Background

Wife was complaining about sending students out of her class to pick up their printouts. They have a cart of laptops the can take to the classroom. She said she wished she had a printer n her room. I said why not use the extra laser printer upstairs and hook it up on your classroom desktop. Then she said the kids would not be able to print. My reply was you have access to their folders on the server and you can print them. Her reply was, "oh yea, you're right". So I sent her a quick email this morning and this is how it went. I have not gotten a final reply.

    email follows:

No such thing. Operating system not your Microsoft office product.

All the sudden, I suspect we're married to the same person.

    Make it easy for her.

Tell her to click the "Start" button, click "Run", then type "winver" and hit enter.

I am afraid she might type regedit instead. Remember they are all crazy.

Click on the start Menu (or just go to the desktop if it has the My Computer icon) right click "My Computer", scroll down to "Properties" then click it. Bam.

Mine scares me sometimes with how much more she knows than I do. I'm a hardware guy, she's more software...

Mrs. Rubberhead stayed home and raised babies. She only recently went back to work, when our little one turned 17. She's getting a crash course in MS Office 2010...

If they are anything like our computers at school you can hang up installing your own printer. IT has to come do it(job security i guess) and they will be there in about a month.
