Hartwell

Anybody catching any good bass on Hartwell? I have a 23 foot center console boat with no bow mount trolling motor (used to live on the gulf coast of texas) so fishing was tough last saturday but it sure was beautiful! I caught 3 decent spotted bass dragging a shakey head around. Tried to catch some on a jig up shallow with no luck. they seem to still be holding in 20+ feet of water.

x2 find a nice flat 4 to 8 ft. deep or so with a good drop off 20+ feet right off of it, We have been marking tons of baitfish were we are catching fish, throw a crankbait and retrieve it fairly slow.... They still arent hitting real hard right now but the fish are definitely starting to come up into the shallower water we caught five within about 4 hours tuesday morning up around browns landing in the muddy water, wish we could get the water to clear up a bit for us....

Thanks for the help fellas. I'm a saltwater guy by trait but I love hooking up with a big lunker too. I won't be able to get on the water again for another couple weekends so by then they'll be pretty closed to spawning and definitely up in the flats. I'm installing a new leaning post on the boat and with all this damn weather, I won't be able to do anything (as far as the instalation) until next week when it clears.
