I have personally heard them start shooting 15 mins before LST. I know I heard over 30 shots before anybody on the lake started shooting. Ridiculous. Oh yea and i shit you not, Sunday morning the shooting started on the lake at 6:30.

It is not a preserve as far as that goes, and maybe it is rumors but the rumor is that they were OTL on "coots". Just Damn

Birdfinder, I know you have some stories from those parts.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Just waiting for someone that knows the truth. We can talk all the bullshit we want but that will get us nowhere. It's coming and I am patiently waiting.

According to a source... "The feds were watching a bunch of ponds because of a tip. But, only ticket was an incidental rally of coots. One guide drove through them and shot one and they shot some out of the blinds on the other end not knowing they were jumped by boat."

    LOL... mmm ok.

I too have been checked more this year than any other and also got a "pro-tip" which resulted in a fantastic hunt!! I like seeing them around more!!
My thoughts exactly JAB. I figure, i'll never retire, always work doing something. Rather have boats, guns now and be able to use em than to save and save and then be too out of health to enjoy it.

I also heard that their food source ran out, so they have been taking shell corn and tossing it in the ponds. Supposably the GW has been watching them do this. I dont know if its true just something I heard

BMG, stop yelling dude seriously. Chill with the exclamation points already.

The par that REALLY chaps my butt about SCWA is how they finance their tamie operation with funds raised from people who have no idea what they're doing, or simply don't know better.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Would get a kick out of it if the feds were involved. They take their jobs seriously.

It's legit. The kid who was telling me about the bust, also mentioned this.
“… duckhunting stands alone as an outdoor discipline. It has a tang and spirit shared by no other sport—a philosophy compounded of sleet, the winnow of unseen wings, and the reeks of marsh mud and wet wool. No other sport has so many theories, legends, casehardened disciples and treasured memories.”

I find it hard to believe that they were running a boat around to rally coots, but who knows, I have heard alot of dumb things. I would like to know the real story.

"stop rimini sticker", you guys crack me up. Rimini is just a drop in the bucket to the number of release ducks sites.
