I have this book...it is called "Western Waterfowler"
Bunch of short stories of bird hunting written by various authors bewteen 1890 and 1950.
Compiled by Worth Mathewson. All the common gripes, skybusting, wanton waste, shooting wrong species etc are prevalent in these stories, so its not a gen x thing.

Maybe you need to specify on WTF you are talking about and explaining to me when I say I am the best at anything??? I by far do not believe that at all and nor do I try to say I am. If I come across like that I do apologize but I would like for you to show me an example of when I seem like I'm "king of the hill"??

Relax man, he wasn't calling you out directly. Your name is just one of those rubberheaded names that are easy to recall. No personal attack, you just got caught in some crossfire because of a poor name choice. See, its all good.

Lets face it fellas. None of us hunt bc we are starving for food. We go hunting bc the pursuit of it is so fun. How a bird is taken with different efforts is where we scale our expertise as waterfowlers. To the guys who ride the water, scouts every whole hes ever known on a weekly basis and patterns birds before the hunt..well done. Just as much of an attah boy to the young feller who chases the same group 15 wood ducks up and down a branch with the desire to know there every move. But to those of you leave the landing and head to the spotlights or pick up early only to move closer to the other guys doing the shooting.. shame on you. If you leave the hill at 6 am with the intent to go find a gap in the hunters and hope someone doesnt see you sneak in with no lights.. go jump off a bridge. Learn what ethics are and remember your days are numbered. Enjoy every sunrise like it was your last and respect others and good things will come your way.

Skybusters: Magic Does Not Apply to Shotgun Physics

Skybusting, or the art of trying to magically propel steel shot 100 yards into the air at a passing duck, is a sure-fire way to ruin your own chances, and everyone else’s chances, at actually killing a duck.

I agree 100%. Couldn't have been worded any better. This is exactly what it comes down to.

Sounds exactly like two separate mud motor hunters up on Marion running up in a slew 75 yds from you @ 6:50 and 6:55 on Sunday the 23rd; and subsequently left @ 7:45 after skyblasting every woodie, not to mention a 3 pack of Commorants, they could try to get a shot off at. UNBELIEVEABLE

I learned a lot from reading their post. I had just started duck hunting. They left in what 08'?
“… duckhunting stands alone as an outdoor discipline. It has a tang and spirit shared by no other sport—a philosophy compounded of sleet, the winnow of unseen wings, and the reeks of marsh mud and wet wool. No other sport has so many theories, legends, casehardened disciples and treasured memories.”

I have to agree ^. Just becuase one is young does not make them a "dumb mother fucker" the dmf are the ones rolling around looking like fools. I have had the pleasure to hunt with fellas a little bit older than myself who were fourtionate enough to be born to public land duck slaying fathers. I have also hunted with people who could be my grandfather that are complete idiots and just do it because they can afford to "shoot" a duck.

Granted alot of the young generation whips around a new Z71 with a Mud rig and jumps birds and shoots anything they see flying 200 yards out, dosent mean all are that way.
