We caught a cooler full off another guys poles while he drifted down from them. I guess he was waiting on them to load up on the poles before he started. We just left the lights off so he couldnt see us. I hope he is shrimping again this weekend! They were thick! BULLS BAY!!!

I have a three footer that I can never get open. Are the bigger ones easier to open? Does this Dentist give how to seminars? Why is it that Dentists know something about everything?

If you pay close attention, you'll find that dentists and proctologists are very similar and they both "know" lots of the same stuff for the same reasons.

If you can't get a 3' net to open, I just don't know what to tell you.

    Where is Bulls Bay?

A couple guys from work are looking for a place to shrimp this weekend. They just moved here from Ohio and need some help. Thanks.

Shrimp baiting permits are actually down from around 17,500 in 98 to about half of that last year. They are currently down another 1,000 from last year. I haven't bought a permit in years, but I still try to go once or twice a year with my father and father in law. Don't fret though, as we don't go to Bulls Bay. Buying shrimp is cheaper and easier, but I don't see how those that enjoy shrimping are any different than other hunters or fishermen. I know duck hunters that make a drive, camp out in freezing weather in a tent or in a boat, and spend a good bit of money on equipment just to shoot get a few shots off in the morning. I wouldn't do it, but I got no problems with those that do.

With the exception of just a few birds, shrimp is much better tasting also...

Hell for a number of years the shrimping is better without bait. Just find 'em "in the holes" and you don't have to have the poles, or a bait permit. Not to mention, you can do it in the daytime. I know people claim to shrimp in bulls bay in the daytime, but anywhere else it ain't worth messing with.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

support your local juvenile fish killers and bycatch...thank commercial shrimpers.

Shrimp baiting permits are indeed way down. This is nothing new ADK...

People enjoy it just as much as you like killing spottails on 8# test in 90 degree water because it's more "sporting".

The buds and I have coolered out 4 times with all nights taking right at an hour. alot of fun, although the bay was pretty much a strikeout for me the first weekend.

get your head out of your ass, son. There's no reason to go bitching about people enjoying time with friends and family.

What do you consider a recreational shrimper? Because I can only get down to the coast a couple of times during the season does that make me a recreational shrimper? I get sick and tired of hearing people acting like they own public property. Not everyone lives at the coast and some people may just enjoy going regardless of what they catch.

Saying its cheaper to buy shrimp is an ignorant statement. Take the money spent on a rifle, bow, ammo, gas, camo, corn, food plots, deer processing etc. You think its cheaper to kill a deer than to go buy the meat? I don't even shimp in or near Bull's Bay but its the same attitude everywhere. Show me your deed to the water and you've got a reason to complain
