I had to put down my best friend for the last 13 years. Admittedly I never wanted a mutt in the first place, but my fiancé convinced me to get him in March of 2011. He was a lab mix of sorts and had short stubby ears. He was supposed to be her dog but took to me off the bat. He was never a field champion trial dog but held his own in the dove field or duck blind.

All three of my kids adored him. He made his rounds every night to each of their rooms to check on them. Every day when we would get home from work or a school he’d greet us at the door with a tail wag and a “smiling face”. Gauge was without a doubt the best dog I’ve ever had, and I’m gonna miss him more than I can possibly describe.ACF04A1D-8881-40BE-8EC9-9180C47B7B92.jpg
