That’s a rough town and county.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

And the truck driver will be charged with murder/attempted murder.

Edit to add... Here is the news story (I assume) and the truck driver, who stole the truck, deserves to be charged with murder... which he was.

So, he was justified in shooting someone that was stealing a vehicle even tho his life wasnt in danger...

Dunno, but if you take into account the whole story someone else's life was in danger although that danger had passed. A lawyer could argue that either way I'm sure. Unfortunately the man lost his life for trying to help out.

"Use Enough Gun" Heck, fatboy couldn't even hit him point blank. Title might should be "Learn to use the gun you have"

Worst part is always the random screaming.

The way I read the article the perp had carjacked one vehicle and was moving on to his second.

Based off the work truck with work body and crane, and ole boy having on a fluorescent work vest I would guess that it was his vehicle being stolen.

It would seem like his life wasn't in danger when the shooting took place, but with the outcome of the event then obviously his life was in danger. I guess the question is would the criminal have ran over him had he not shot at him

Don't know NC law, but in SC you are justified if you can articulate that the suspect's actions to the general public are more dangerous if he gets away, then you can shoot. Given that he had already car jacked one vehicle, and now attempting another one could use that in their favor as he has proved that he will not stop trying to get away at any costs.

I’ve got a really good hunting lease in Robeson County. It’s in a ROUGH area though. I met the local warlord though and he likes deer meat so I think I’m good. I do keep my heater within reach while driving through the trailerhood into the farm.
