RR Corn.....Brown Top......Prozo........Sunflowers.........Grain sorghum in the woods plots for quail......Have headed out wheat/oats that I planted last fall.

I planted corn Saturday and got lucky with a little bit of rain yesterday. I'll wait until mid May to plant flowers.

I learned last year that sunflowers can tolerate sitting in hot dry dust for a few weeks before they get rain. I had given up hope on my first planting and replanted. When it finally rained, everything came up and the rows were all confused and crisscrossed.

i remember you posting about that. it gives us all hope!

This is my first year planting sunflowers. We planted Eagle Seed Clearfields. I recently bought a used Covington single row planter that worked well today, but the fertilizer hopper wasn’t dropping fertilizer like it should have.

We sprayed 41% glysophate, prowl, and spartan charge after the seeds were in the ground. I’m hoping that rain comes tomorrow to activate the pre-emergent and keep the ground as clean as possible.
